My honest review
I needed something tough for those quick evening walks and unpredictable chai runs where wearing proper sneakers feels like too much effort and basic flip-flops just don't give enough grip. That is where a hybrid style like the MDS walking sandal comes into the picture.
Build and everyday feel
The upper is made from synthetic material, paired with a solid PVC sole underneath. PVC is known for being sturdy and water-tolerant, which makes these quite practical if you are stepping out on dusty roads or slightly damp pavements. You do not have to baby them. If they get muddy after a walk around the neighborhood, a quick rinse under the tap sorted mine right out.
One small heads-up: PVC soles do not offer the plush, bouncy memory-foam cushion you get in high-end walking trainers. They feel firmer underfoot. For standard brisk walks, errands, or hanging out outdoors, the rigidity actually gives decent stability, but don't expect cloud-like bounce.
Practical use and fit
The strap layout holds your foot securely, so your heel does not slide around like it does in backless slippers. It is breathable, which is a blessing during hot and humid Indian summers when closed shoes turn into mini ovens.
Here is a quick tip: during the first couple of wears, the synthetic straps might feel a little stiff around the edges. Wear them around the house for a day or two to let them break in before heading out on a long, continuous walk.

- ✓Synthetic material is easy to wash and dry quickly
- ✓Open, airy design prevents sweaty feet
- ✓Secure fit keeps the heel in place while walking
- •Sole feels quite firm with minimal soft cushioning
