Instead of driving down to the local hardware market in the traffic, I just opened the Amazon.in app, ordered the heating element, and had it by Wednesday afternoon. That is exactly why most of us cannot live without this platform anymore. It has basically replaced the local market run for everything from daily groceries to premium electronics.

The search and buying experience

Finding things is usually a breeze, but the search results have gotten incredibly cluttered lately. You search for a specific brand of charger, and the first four results are sponsored products from brands you have never heard of. It gets annoying. But once you filter through the noise, the UPI integration is incredibly smooth. I usually pay via Amazon Pay UPI, and it rarely fails, unlike some other payment gateways that hang mid-transaction.

Delivery speed and Prime membership

If you are in a metro city like Mumbai or Delhi, the delivery speed is ridiculously fast. Prime membership is almost a necessity now if you want those free one-day deliveries. However, if you live in a tier-2 or tier-3 town, do not expect miracles. Deliveries there still take three to five days, which is fair, but the app sometimes overpromises on the exact delivery date during checkout.

Customer support and returns

Here is what nobody tells you: the return policy isn't as hassle-free as it was five years ago. Earlier, they would pick up anything without questions. Now, for electronics and appliances, they often insist on a technician visit first to verify the defect. It makes sense to prevent fraud, but it adds a couple of days of headache if you receive a genuinely faulty product. Still, their chat support is quick to connect and usually helpful.
